The Late Shri Madho Das Mundhra,
Group old Patriach of Mundhra family, was born at Bikaner
(Rajasthan) in 1918. After early education there, he moved
to Calcutta where he graduated and soon immersed himself in
business.
Endowed with great foresight, razor-sharp intellect, photographic
memory and great human skill, he made a deep mark on everybody
who came in contact with him and they saw promise in him.
From a modest beginning in trading, he was soon to establish
his reputation as one who would take up any difficult venture.
Those were the declining years of the British Rule and MD
(affectionately called so) started taking over British Companies.
Though from a commercial background, he soon mastered the
complexities of the highly technical profession and created
an edifice.
A deep thinker, avid reader,a keen philosopher and a proponent
of Indian Classical Music, MD also established schools, hospitals
and other such institutions.
